What is a cookie file?

Cookie files are small text files created automatically by a web browser when you visit a website. Information in each cookie can only be read by a website this file comes from. With this information, the website “knows” how you use it and can, for example, adjust its content or offer you help.

What do the websites use cookie files for?

 The cookie files we use on our websites are used to:

  • create aggregate statistics and analyses which help us to understand how the users benefit from our services – it allows us to continuously improve the structure and the content of our websites so that they are – as much as possible – relevant to the needs of our current and potential customers; more information about Google Analytics and Google’s cookie files can be found in Google Analytics Policies related to security and privacy;
  • optimize our internet websites for devices and browsers used most commonly by users when they visit these websites
  • measure the effectiveness of marketing actions carried out as well as to match the content and form of advertisements displayed both on our websites and e.g. in Google advertisement network (more information on cookie files used in Google advertisement network can be found on https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2407785);

We make use of two kinds of cookie files:

  • session cookies – they remain on your device until you leave the website or close the internet browser;
  • persistent cookies – they remain on your device for a specified time or until you delete them manually.

When using cookie technology, we collect only anonymous, statistical data about the users. The data is used to improve the comfort in using the service.

Can I stop accepting cookies?

The web browsers by default allow to store cookies but you can change the cookie files settings at any time in the browser’s options.

However, should you decide to disable write/read access to cookie files used by the website, it may inhibit you from benefiting fully and correctly from the system.
